Located about 64 kilometers from Marrakech, Imlil is the last village easily accessible by road before boarding the famous Mount Toubkal, the highest point of the Moroccan Atlas. Known for being the starting point for many hikes including the rise of Toubkal, Imlil and its valley are also known to offer a change of scenery. With its many orchards and breathtaking views, the valley shows another unknown side of the region.
at 1,740 m in height and at the gates of Toubkal National Park, is the starting point for climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in Morocco and North Africa. It can be accessed from Marrakech (64 km) via Asni and from Taroudant via the Tizi-n-Test pass.
After possessing in the gorge of Asni a pretty Berber village located 47 km from Marrakech, at 1150 m altitude, at the foot of Jebel Toubkal, rich in fruit trees. Diving into the Asni Valley, two rivers coalesce (Imlil and Ait Mizane) and give rise to Wadi Rhirhaya. The landscape is superb. Asni is the perfect starting point for beautiful hikes of many trekkings. Saturday morning is souk day, bartering is much practiced.
